The Muddy Stilettos Awards celebrate outstanding independent businesses across the county, with thousands of readers nominating and voting for their favourites. To be recognised by diners from across Essex is an incredible honour and one that means a great deal to our entire team.
Our aim has always been simple: to create a restaurant where guests can enjoy exceptional food, warm hospitality and a memorable dining experience in the Essex countryside.
This award belongs as much to our guests as it does to us.
Over the past few weeks, so many of you took the time to vote, share our campaign and encourage friends and family to support us. Whether you've joined us for a special occasion, a seasonal tasting menu, a leisurely Sunday lunch or a midweek meal with friends, we are incredibly grateful for your support.
We would also like to thank our wonderful team. From the kitchen to front of house, every member of staff plays a part in creating the experience our guests enjoy. Their dedication, professionalism and passion are at the heart of everything we do.
We're particularly proud that this recognition comes during another exciting year for the restaurant. Alongside retaining our Two AA Rosettes, we have recently launched our Summer À La Carte Menu under Head Chef Matthew Walker and have also been nominated in six categories at the Essex Life Food & Drink Awards 2026, including Restaurant of the Year, Fine Dining Restaurant and Outstanding Service.
