Indoor Ceremony Space
Our ceremony room is a warm, elegant space designed for intimate weddings. With soft lighting, natural textures and a calm, welcoming atmosphere, it’s perfect for couples who want a relaxed, romantic setting without the need for heavy styling.

Weather permitting, you can choose to hold your ceremony outdoors. Both spaces are licensed and offer a relaxed, natural setting for your vows.
Overlooking the surrounding countryside, the terrace is a peaceful, openair space ideal for couples who love the idea of an outdoor ceremony without leaving the comfort of the venue. Sheltered and intimate, the courtyard offers a charming outdoor option with a more private feel. It’s especially popular for microweddings and couples who prefer a simple, understated setting.

Choosing Your Ceremony Time
Once you've secured your preferred wedding format with us, you'll be able to book your registrar directly with Essex Registration Service., who will guide you through the legal requirements for your marriage.
For couples choosing exclusive hire, ceremonies can take place at any time throughout the day. For our intimate wedding formats of up to 14 guests, ceremonies are held at either 12pm or 5.30pm.
Once your ceremony time is confirmed, we'll help you plan the rest of your day, creating a personalised itinerary tailored to your celebration.
Styling Your Ceremony
Pig & Whistle Restaurant’s characterful interiors and countryside surroundings mean many couples choose to keep their ceremony styling simple. Popular choices include:

Music for Your Ceremony
Simply provide your chosen ceremony music and we’ll take care of the rest. For exclusive weddings, you’re also welcome to arrange live musicians or acoustic performers to enhance the atmosphere.
Adult Only Venue
Pig & Whistle Restaurant welcomes guests aged 10 and over, helping us maintain the calm, intimate atmosphere that many couples choose us for. For exclusive-use weddings where the entire venue is reserved, this policy does not apply, allowing you to celebrate with guests of all ages.
Arrange a Viewing
The best way to explore our ceremony spaces is to visit us in person. Viewings are available between 4pm and 6pm, Wednesday to Saturday, when the restaurant is between lunch and evening service. We’d be delighted to show you around and discuss your plans.
