A double celebration as we also take home the Outstanding Service Award
We’re absolutely delighted to share some very special news. Pig & Whistle Restaurant has been named Restaurant of the Year at the Essex Life Food & Drink Awards 2026.
And as if that wasn’t enough, we also won the Outstanding Service Award, making it an extraordinary double celebration for our team.
Restaurant of the Year, for the first time
Restaurant of the Year is an award that means an enormous amount to us, and one we have never won before at the Essex Life Food & Drink Awards.
Having previously been recognised by Essex Life and, more recently, seeing Pig & Whistle Restaurant become a finalist in both Restaurant of the Year and Outstanding Service, we arrived at today’s awards reception simply delighted to be amongst some of the best restaurants and hospitality businesses in Essex.
To then hear Pig & Whistle Restaurant announced as Restaurant of the Year was a moment we won’t forget.
The finalist feature in Essex Life described Pig & Whistle Restaurant as a “perennial favourite”, highlighting our combination of great food, grown up cosiness, service and style, together with menus that change with the seasons and celebrate quality ingredients.
It feels particularly special to see everything we have worked to create at our little restaurant in the Essex countryside recognised with the title Restaurant of the Year 2026.
Outstanding Service too
There was another very proud moment when Pig & Whistle Restaurant was announced as the winner of the Outstanding Service Award.
Service has always been about much more than simply bringing food to the table for us. We want every visit to feel personal, relaxed and genuinely special.
As we explained to Essex Life when the finalists were announced, so many of our guests choose Pig & Whistle Restaurant for the important moments in their lives, from birthdays and anniversaries to engagements, intimate weddings and family milestones.
Every booking represents a memory in the making, and that is a responsibility our team never takes lightly.
Winning Outstanding Service is therefore a wonderful recognition of the people who work incredibly hard, both in front of our guests and behind the scenes, to make those experiences happen.
