CHELMSFORD RESTAURANT NAMED BEST IN ESSEX
Pig & Whistle Restaurant, located in the Essex countryside just outside Chelmsford, has been named Best Essex Restaurant in the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2026.
The independent restaurant, which has held two AA Rosettes for the past two years, received the accolade following a public vote involving thousands of readers across the county.
Owned by Brendan and Justin Mullender-Curran, Pig & Whistle Restaurant has built a reputation for seasonal menus, warm hospitality and a relaxed countryside setting. The couple have transformed it into one of Essex's leading independent restaurants.
The award recognises a period of continued growth for the business, which has recently introduced a new summer menu under Head Chef Matthew Walker and expanded its outdoor dining offering overlooking the Essex countryside.
